The event will gather 53 teams with 850 athletes, five teams are from Japan, Australia, Laos, China’s Guangxi, and Singapore.

The race was first organized in 2018 by Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Airlines, attracting a number of domestic and foreign teams. Dragon boat racing is a Vietnamese tradition. Through the event, Hanoi authorities want to promote the tradition, encourage sports among citizens, and attract tourists.
