Hau Giang province urged to develop high-tech agriculture
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang to develop high-tech agriculture on its large rice fields and combine agricultural restructure with development of new rural areas.

At Tuesday’s working session with the leaders of Hau Giang province - a rice hub but still one of the 4 poorest provinces in the Mekong Delta, Mr. Phuc pointed out Hau Giang’s advantages and disadvantages and proposed some measures: “Local people should be innovative and dynamic to build on the local potential. Hau Giang province needs to transform its current chemical agriculture to organic agriculture adapted to climate change. Farmers and businesses should adopt the new-style cooperative model and food safety standards. The service sector and processing and supportive industry need to serve agricultural development”.
Prime Minister Phuc also urged provincial authorities to upgrade the labor force.
