HCM City hosts Tet celebration for Overseas Vietnamese
(VOVWORLD) - More than 800 overseas Vietnamese from around the world attended a get-together held on Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong briefed the participants on the city’s socioeconomic development in recent years and acknowledged the overseas Vietnamese’s contributions to the city’s growth.
On the occasion, the city honoured 5 groups and 14 individuals for their excellent contributions to the city’s growth in 2017.
