HCM City seeks cooperation with Francophone universities
(VOVworld) - A delegation consisting of 14 heads of universities from the Network of Excellence in Engineering Sciences of the French-speaking Community) (RESIF) led by Professor Aebisher, President of the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne in Switzerland, has visited Ho Chi Minh city.
At a working session on Tuesday, Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, spoke highly of RESIF’s selection of Ho Chi Minh city as a place to organize its second conference and inaugurate the Asian Water Research Centre at Ho Chi Minh city Polytechnic University. Quan said Vietnam and its Ho Chi Minh city in particular have been seriously affected by climate change, like rising sea levels and other water-related issues. The establishment of the centre will help Ho Chi Minh city cope with the impact of climate change. Professor Aebisher said water is very important for Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh city as well, especially in the context of climate change and rising sea levels.
