(VOVWORLD) - HCM city will focus on capital and human resources to recover the economy, municipal Party Secretary Phan Van Mai said at a meeting of the People’s Council on Tuesday.

Other measures include accelerating public investment capital, implementing support packages, building epidemic monitoring and warning systems, reinforcing health care, improving treatment capacity, and updating safety criteria which will serve as the basis for production and business activities, according to Mr. Mai.
“We will remove bottlenecks facing the people and businesses to create the best conditions for them to get involved in economic recovery. We will focus on administrative reform, improving the investment climate, and address every single difficulty endured by the people and businesses,” he said.
Mr. Mai said local authorities will ensure the social welfare, particularly for children and the elderly, and plan to build one million units of affordable housing for low-income workers.
HCM city is the largest COVID-19 hotspot in Vietnam with more than 415,000 cases recorded so far.
