HCM City, US seek to boost ties in human resources development
(VOVWORLD) -Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders have urged American businesses to increase investment in the city’s smart city building, technological development, and innovation.

At a meeting with Senior Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council (UABC) Michael Michalak on Monday, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan highly valued efforts by Michalak, a former US ambassador to Vietnam, to promote bilateral relations.
Michalak asked HCM City’s authorities to create conditions for investment in education, training, and human resources development. The US is a leading trade partner of HCM City.
Bilateral trade reached 8.2 billion USD in 2018. With 400 projects worth 1 billion USD, the US ranks 10th among all countries and territories invested in HCMC.
