HCMC sets up 5,000-bed field hospitals for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms
(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh city will use the dormitory of the Center for National Defense and Security Training and the Zone A domitory, both under the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City, as field hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms.

The new infirmary at the Center for National Defense and Security Training has the capacity of 1,000 beds and was put into operation on Saturday.
The other field hospital offers 4,000 beds and will open in the future depending on the pandemic situation in the city.
The new facilities will treat COVID-19 patients with no or mild symptoms. Those who develop more serious symptoms will be transferred to existing COVID-19 treatment facilities in the city.
With the two new infirmaries, HCM city has a total of 13 COVID-19 treatment facilities with a combined capacity of 10,000 beds.
