HCMC to applies Smart Ticketing System to public transport
(VOVWORLD) - Under the UK Prosperity Fund’s Global Future Cities Programme, the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the HCMC Department of Transportation are finalizing technical standards for a smart ticketing system for the city’s public transport.
Passengers will be able to travel on different means of public transport like buses, BRT, and metro using smart cards.
There are currently 127 bus routes operating in the city. An automatic payment system has been installed on 16 bus routes. Around 7,000 smart cards have been issued.
