The article said that for a place scarred by decades of war and foreign occupation, Ho Chi Minh City, which many people still call Saigon, feels surprisingly modern. It's a metropolis that is constantly reinventing itself.

While taller and taller buildings reshape its skyline, the city manages to stay firmly in touch with tradition.
