The event, themed "Ho Chi Minh City – sparkling singing river", featured 1,100 drones creating colorful iconic pictures in the sky of Ben Thanh market and historic ships that have traversed the Saigon River. Spectators also enjoyed water motorbikes, windsurfing, jet skiing, and flyboarding shows.
Nguyen Trung Hieu, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, said: “This is the first time my family has attended the festival, and my children really love it. It’s modern and fun. Next year, if Ho Chi Minh City once again organizes this kind of festival, it will probably be even bigger than this year.”
The festival included an art program called "Legendary Ship", a fireworks display, a space recreating the southwestern region's floating market, a Fruit Week on the wharf and the boats, the Open River Swimming Championship, and demonstrations of water sports.
