(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh city and Western Australia have agreed to boost cooperation, particularly following the recent opening of the Vietnamese Consulate in Perth.

At a meeting with Peter Tinley, Minister for Housing, Veterans Issues, Youth and Asian Engagement of West Australia state in Ho Chi Minh city on Monday, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said many Vietnamese people are living, studying and working in Western Australia, adding that he hopes the local government will continue to support the Vietnamese community.
Tinley said that Western Australia has strength in liquefied petroleum gas and agriculture, and is eager to partner with Vietnamese agencies and localities like HCM City. He said Western Australia always tries to support the Vietnamese community living in their state.
