On this occasion, a documentary will be broadcast by the national broadcaster Vietnam Television (VTV) showing the influence of the communist hero Ho Chi Minh on oppressed nations around the world.
Other activities are under way across Vietnam in remembrance of Uncle Ho. A delegation of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations and representatives of Quang Ninh authorities and citizens participated in a “Follow in President Ho Chi Minh's footsteps” tour and a festival in China’s Quangxi province for people of the border area between Vietnam and China.
Vu Xuan Hong, chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, spoke about the program’s meaning: “every step of President Ho Chi Minh in China was closely linked to major events of the Vietnam revolution and spoke to the sentimental brotherhood between the two countries. The movement ‘Following in President Ho Chi Minh's footsteps’ offers each of us an opportunity to learn and follow the example set by our predecessors and teach younger generations to honor and uphold the Vietnamese-Sino friendship, a precious asset of both our peoples.”
Overseas Vietnamese communities worldwide organized various activities to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.
