(VOVWORLD) - The Houthi group in Yemen said on Thursday that it will continue its military operations in the Red Sea in support of Palestine.

"Our military operations will continue to target ships linked to Israeli, American, and British interests," said Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the group's leader, in a televised speech on the Houthi-operated al-Masirah television channel.
Since November 2023, the Houthi group has been conducting missile and drone attacks on Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea and other waters off Yemen to show solidarity with Palestinians amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In response, the US-British naval coalition stationed in the region has conducted air raids and missile strikes against Houthi targets to deter the group.
