(VOVworld) – Syria's state news agency Sana reported that some 300 civilians were killed in an IS attack on Saturday in Deir al-Zor City and its adjacent area of Al-Baghaliyeh. Most of the victims were women, children, and elderly people. The Syrian government has strongly condemned the massacre. Syrian Prime Minister Wael Al Halqi said the legal and moral responsibility for this barbaric and cowardly massacre lies on the shoulders of all the states that support terrorism, adding that the IS will soon be eliminated in Syria. Most of Syria’s eastern provinces are under the control of the IS.
