IAEA chief praises Vietnam’s efforts in nuclear nonproliferation
(VOVworld) - IAEA chief Yukiya Amano has praised Vietnam’s efforts for its participation in many international Conventions on nuclear safety, security, and non-proliferation, as well as the country’s cautious preparations for its nuclear power project. Yukiya Amano made the remarks at his Thursday press conference during his on-going visit to Vietnam.
At the event, Yukiya Amano and Deputy Minister of Science and Technologies Le Dinh Tien introduced IAEA’s roles in boosting the technological applications, ensuring nuclear safety and security, and promoting nuclear nonproliferation in the world. The IAEA chief also announced the agency’s possible assistance for countries that begin to develop nuclear power, including Vietnam. Earlier, in Amano’s meeting at the Ministry of Science and Technologies, the two sides looked at their past cooperation and exchanged directions for collaboration in the time to come.
