IAEA chief at a media conference

(VOVworld) - Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano visited the construction site of the nuclear power plant and worked with leaders of Ninh Thuan province. During working sessions, Amano praised Vietnam’s determination to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes, ensuring security and nuclear safety. He also said he was impressed about Vietnam’s progress in implementing its nuclear energy development program, as well as Vietnam’s participation in the International Convention on Nuclear Safety. He pointed out that Vietnam has adopted clear policies in building legal documents governing nuclear power and the infrastructure needed for the construction of the Ninh Thuan power plant. The IAEA chief pledged to support Vietnam in building a nuclear power plant for peaceful purposes.
