Deborah Greenfield, who is on a visit to Vietnam, made the commitment during a meeting with Truong Thi Mai, Poliburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization in Hanoi on Tuesday.
Ms. Mai praised the ILO’s achievements during its 100-year journey to build peace based on fairness. She said Vietnam is committed to supporting the ILO’s noble goal, which was also President Ho Chi Minh’s goal. She said Vietnam’s development puts people in the center, promotes and protects the rights and benefits of employees and employers, builds a social security system, and protects vulnerable groups so that no one is left behind.
