During the ritual in Nam Cuong ward’s martyr cemetery in Lao Cai City on Wednesday, the veterans paid tribute to their comrades and pledged more contribution to national construction and defense. They have visited and presented gifts to veterans in Lao Cai. Luong Van Son, Chairman of the provincial Veterans’ Association, said: “These activities are to pay respect to heroes, martyrs and veterans in recognition of their merits to the war to protect the northern border. This is the Party and State’s policies of never forgetting those who sacrificed for the nation. We have closely cooperated with the liaisons of those divisions who fought in the war in 1979 to have annual events beneficial to war veterans.”
