(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister’s decision on incentives for the development of solar power projects in Vietnam will take effect on May 22.

The decision stipulates the national feed-in tariff for rooftop solar power systems at 8.38 US cents/kWh, which is higher than floating solar power projects at 7.7 US cents/kWh and ground-mounted solar power projects at about 7 US cents/kWh.
Hoang Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “The Vietnamese government’s Decision 13 on mechanisms to support solar energy, including rooftop solar power projects, will take effect on May 22. We hope the Ministry of Industry and Trade will soon issue circulars to instruct the Vietnam Electricity Group to implement the decision.”
