(VOVWORLD) - Construction of a 450MW solar power plant, the largest in Southeast Asia, commenced in Thuan Nam district in the central province of Ninh Thuận on Friday.

Trung Nam Group, the investor of the 540 million USD plant, will also build a substation and transmission lines to connect the farm with the national grid.
Luu Xuan Vinh, Chairman of Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee, said: “The project is a decisive step to turn Ninh Thuan in to a national hub of renewable energy. It also plays an important role in the province’s socio-economic development plans."
"We are ready to promptly resolve any difficulties faced by the investor to help them complete the project as scheduled.”
