This confluence of interlinked interests has been reflected in the first visit to Vietnam by India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. The article said that the ties between India and Vietnam have been exceptionally friendly, and virtually free of any dissonance or friction. It is built on robust foundations laid down by the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Vietnam’s President Ho Chi Minh. Relations have grown exponentially over the years.

With a direct air route linking New Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City to be launched in November, transport between the two nations will become more convenient, boosting people-to-people exchanges and the development of tourism.
