(VOVworld) - At least 18 people were killed and 45 others injured in a stampede at Malabar hill of Mumbai, India where Dawoodi Bohra community was praying.

The stampede occurred on Saturday near the Mumbai residence of Dawoodi Bohra's spiritual leader Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, who died on Friday. The overcrowded number of people resulted in the stampede. According to the police, the injured were taken to hospital and the cause of the stampede is still under investigation.
