(VOVworld) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership in national defense, energy, and trade, at the 15th annual India-Russia Summit in New Delhi on Thursday.

The two sides also signed 20 cooperative agreements in military training, peaceful uses of atomic energy, oil and gas, finance, investment, and information technology.
Modi told reporters that Russia remains India’s top defense partner and its unique place in India’s foreign policy will not change. He added that the two sides had discussed a range of new defense projects and how to align the defense relations to India's own priorities, including Russia’s locating manufacturing facilities in India for spare parts and components for its defense equipment.
