India's Maharashtra reports 20 Delta-plus COVID variant cases
(VOVWORLD) -A total of 20 cases of the new Sars-CoV-2 variant dubbed the Delta-plus, have been found in samples collected of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Of which cases did not have any symptoms.

The Delta-plus, formed by mutation in the Delta variant, is currently a “variant of interest”, and hasn’t been classified as a “variant of concern” by the Union health ministry yet.
Local authorities have set up isolation and blockade areas in places where this variant is found. According to local health officials, the Delta plus variant may be one of the causes of the second wave of COVID-19 in India.
India on Monday reported more than 53,000 new COVID-19 infections and more than 1,400 deaths.
