(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in HCM city on Tuesday to mark India’s 67^th Republic Day. Vice-president of HCM city’s Union of Friendship Organizations Huynh Minh Thien said that with its increasing economic and defense potential and advanced science and technology India has become a major power in Asia and the world.

Indian Consul General in HCM city Smita Pant praised cooperation between Vietnam and India in culture, trade, and investment, particularly in garments and textiles, pharmaceuticals, electricity, oil and gas. She said that the Consulate will cooperate with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and HCM city’s Vietnam-India Friendship Association in promoting exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries.
