Indonesia tightens security ahead of election
(VOVworld) - Indonesia’s army and police are taking all measures necessary to ensure security for the upcoming election. The chief of the Indonesian National Police (POLRI), General Sutarman, has ordered police and other security agencies nationwide to expand their networks to rapidly detect and prevent any plots to undermine the legislative election which is due to take place in April, and the presidential polls following from July to October.

Sutarman added that the POLRI has plans to deal with any possible threats in vulnerable localities such as in the provinces of Aceh, central Sulawesi, and especially in North Maluku and Papua, where security has been infringed recently.
