(VOVworld) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived in Aceh province on Thursday to oversee recovery work in the aftermath of the 6.5 Richter scale earthquake which struck the province a day earlier.

President Widodo visited victims being treated in Zainal Abidin hospital. Close to 300 homes were destroyed by the quake, rendering hundreds of people injured or homeless. Thousands of soldiers, police, rescue workers, and volunteers have been mobilized for the rescue work.
