Inter-Korean relations remain tense

(VOVWORLD) - Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Sunday quoted a spokesman for the North's United Front Department (UFD) as saying that North Korea has no intention to cancel its plan to send anti-Seoul leaflets across the border.

The move is considered one of North Korea’s measures to oppose the dropping of anti-Pyongyang leaflets across the inter-Korean border.

KCNA reported that on Saturday, South Korea’s Unification Ministry expressed regret and urged Pyongyang to withdraw the plan immediately, calling it a violation of an inter-Korean summit agreement.

But North Korea stressed that it doesn’t have any intent to reconsider or change the  plan at a time when North-South relations have already collapsed, adding that the inter-Korean military agreement reached two years ago was no longer valid.

On Saturday, KCNA reported Pyongyang was printing anti-Seoul propaganda materials in large numbers and preparing to send them across the border.
