(VOVworld) – US Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work said on Wednesday that the war against IS by the international coalition has reached its climax. He said that although IS had conducted terror attacks abroad such as that in Brussels, IS is losing ground to the international coalition.

Mr. Work said that since last August the US-led coalition has launched numerous airstrikes on IS targets in Iraq and Syria. Syrian government armies have also regained control of many important cities and towns. The coalition will defeat IS soon, Work said.

US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter has listed victories by the coalition force over IS.
