International friends celebrate Vietnamese Tet
(VOVworld)- More than 300 international friends, including Japanese politicians, government officials, and representatives of foreign embassies attended a get-together in Tokyo on Tuesday at the Vietnamese Embassy’s headquarters celebrating the Tet holiday. Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung reviewed Vietnam’s major development achievements in 2013, and affirmed relations between Vietnam and Japan are faring well in all areas. He took this occasion to thank the government and people of Japan, as well as international friends for providing effective assistance to Vietnam in the past year.

Hung said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s official visit to Vietnam after he took office and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to Japan in late 2013 proved the fine relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Alliance Tsutomu Takebe said:“I think that the Japanese- Vietnamese relationship will develop rapidly this year. Our bilateral relationship a strategic partnership based on mutual trust. The two countries’ Prime Ministers have reiterated this during their visits. I really hope that our ties will further develop in the future”.
In Cambodia, Phnom Penh governor Paso Cheatevong on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia on the occasion of Vietnam’s Lunar New Year (Tet) festival. He extended best Tet wishes to embassy officials and staff in the Year of the Horse, and expressed his hope relevant Vietnamese agencies and localities will strengthen cooperation in various areas with Phnom Penh for mutual benefit. A delegation of the Bolykhamxay province led by its Secretary and Governor Pan Noi Ma Ny paid a New Year visit to Nghe An province. The same day, a delegation of the Vientiane’s Military Command Committee and Hua Phan province in Laos congratulated Nghe An authorities on the occasion of Vietnamese Tet.
