International friendship during Vietnam War refreshed
(VOVworld) - A foreign delegation of 50 diplomats, journalists, veterans and peace activists have been in Vietnam to join the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Paris Accords to restore peace in the country. Ramsy Clark, a former US Attorney General at the Department of Justice, came to Vietnam as an anti-war activist 40 years ago and now made a return at the age of 86:“40 years make a long journey in a person’s life. I’ve been back and see the positive changes in Vietnam after 4 decades. We must do more to overcome war consequences.”
George Burchett is a son of Australian journalist Wilfed Burchett who has been with the Vietnamese people through wars of resistance. Burchett junior said his father’s photos and articles about Vietnam have influenced him:“The image of Ho Chi Minh and the liberation war in Vietnam has been historical landmarks. My father’s photos and articles are evidence of the history. They are valuable lessons for us. I have witnessed Vietnam’s dynamic development and its people’s determination to strive forward.”
