(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and foreign experts shared their experiences in economic reform to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth at an international conference in Hanoi on Tuesday. 

At the event, entitled “Economic reforms for inclusive and sustainable growth: international experience and lessons for Vietnam”, participants discussed the development of financial and industrial sectors and rural areas, the improvement of international competitiveness through the reform of state-owned enterprises, and the exploitation of benefits from regional and international integration.

Foreign experts shared their specific experiences with a number of ASEAN and East Asian representatives on the role of institutions towards ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth and contributed ideas about how Vietnam could overcome the middle-income trap. Delegates talked about how to link international integration and domestic economic reform, based on recommendations for tapping value chains and global production networks among East Asian nations, including Vietnam, in order to produce sustainable growth targets. Participants discussed the significance of free trade agreements by analyzing the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.
