International reaction toward Israel’s attacks in Gaza
(VOVworld) – UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon denounced Israel’s air strike on a primary school in Gaza on Wednesday which killed 16 people. He urged that the culprits be brought to justice. Speaking during a visit to Costa Rica, Ban said the UN school was sheltering over 3,000 people. This was the second attack on the UN-designated shelters for Palestinians in Gaza this week. Ban said the UN had contacted Israel’s military officials 17 times to inform them of the school’s location, but the Israeli army ignored the notice.

Costa Rica President Guillermo Solis criticized the bloody violence in Israel as crime against humanity and called for a truce under UN supervision.
The White House slammed the attacks on the UN agencies which showed no respect for the UN’s neutral role. French President Francois Hollande said Israel’s actions were unjustifiable and urged the immediate imposition of a truce.
