(VOVworld) - Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong told the Inter-parliamentary Union Secretary General that it’s an honor for Vietnam to have been selected as the host country of a tripartite program on HIV/AIDS between the IPU, its members and the UN AIDS.

She called for close cooperation with the IPU in the preparation of the Hanoi declaration to be discussed at the 132^nd IPU General Assembly in Hanoi next March. This reflects world parliamentarians’ commitment to sustainable growth and a world of peace, friendship, democracy and development.
Secretary General Martin Chungon praised Vietnam’s achievements in HIV/AIDS control and wished Vietnam to become a strong member of the IPU.
