Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi sat down with top EU envoy Helga Schmid, who represents the P5+1 countries. The two sides made progress in the previous negotiations but differences remain over technical issues. The deadline for Iran and the P5+1 group to reach a comprehensive nuclear deal is June 30th.
A spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday that Iran is ready to extend the deadline if necessary but does not accept the West’s unreasonable requirements relating to inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
