(VOVworld) - Nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 will resume on April 21 at the deputy level, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tuesday. It will be the first meeting since a major breakthrough two weeks ago. Zarif said during a visit to Madrid, Spain, that his colleagues, the deputy to European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, and other senior experts of the P5+1 will gather next Tuesday.

In another development, Iran has proposed a four-point peace plan for Yemen which includes a call for an end to Saudi-led air strikes against the Houthi rebels. Zarif said Tehran's peace initiative involves a ceasefire, humanitarian assistance, a dialogue between Yemeni factions, and a coalition government to resolve the conflict. He highlighted the need to end all air and ground campaigns in Yemen.

The same day, the UN Security Council imposed an arms embargo on Houthi fighters battling for control of Yemen. The Gulf countries proposed the embargo and asked Houthi fighters to withdraw from areas they have seized, including the capital Sanaa. The Security Council resolution froze assets of the son of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh as well as assets of the top Houthi leader, Abdulmalik al-Houthi.
