(VOVworld) – Iranian officials and an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation led by Deputy Director-general Tero Tapio Varjoranta are holding talks in Tehran regarding oversight measures of Iran’s nuclear program. A new round of talks will cover two of five practical measures in the third step towards agreement between Iran and IAEA, but further details were not disclosed. The Vienna-based IAEA revealed in September that Iran had failed to meet an August 25 deadline to provide information on five points meant to allay fears over its development of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Iran insists its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
