Iran, P5+1 to ink important nuclear deal
(VOVworld) - The P5+1 world powers and Iran have struck a historic deal on Tehran’s nuclear program at talks in Geneva on Sunday in return for loosened sanctions against Tehran. This was considered the first breakthrough after a decade of international efforts to prevent Iran’s disputed nuclear program. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton on behalf of the P5+1 and Iranian chief negotiator and foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif confirmed that both sides have reached a temporary agreement after 5 days of intense discussions. Iran will stop enriching uranium beyond 5% within 6 months as Washington will loosen its sanctions against the Islamic country. The deal is expected to be signed at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland later Sunday.
