Iran – Saudi Arabia tensions: Pakistan calls for communication line installation
(VOVworld) - A Pakistani high-ranking delegation led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who are on their visit to Saudi Arabia, called for the opening of a communication line between Saudi Arabia and Iran on Monday.

The visit came as Pakistan is trying to mediate in the ongoing dispute between Riyadh and Tehran after Saudi Arabia had executed prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by his Army chief arrived in Riyadh on Monday to meet with the Saudi Arabian King. PM Sharif stressed the need to set up the communication channels between Iran and Saudi Arabia and called for peaceful measures to gap the differences between Muslim communities.
