According to the IAEA chief, this is a very important move as parties are working hard to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Grossi expressed satisfaction with his visit and cooperation with Iran, stressing Iran and the IAEA should continue high-level cooperation.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said he hopes that the IAEA would not be influenced by major powers. In his meeting with the UN nuclear watchdog chief, Raisi also mentioned the use of nuclear technology in the industrial, agricultural, and medical sectors, noting that it is very important for people’s lives.
