(VOVworld) – Iraqi militants retreated from several western Iraqi towns and towards the Syrian border on Sunday as security forces worked their way up the Euphrates Valley.

Yahya Rasool, Iraq's top security spokesman, said most of IS militants in towns of Hit, Rutba and Kubaysa in Anbar province have fled through the desert to other regions. People in the region have taken to streets to celebrate their liberation.
