(VOVWORLD) - Iraqi forces on Tuesday reclaimed many areas in western Anbar province from the Islamic State (ISIS).

Iraqi soldiers, supported by the US-led coalition and Sunni fighters, took control of some villages near Qaim town, including Al-Obeidi, one of the most important positions held by ISIS.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi last Thursday launched a military campaign to liberate Qaim and Rawa.
