According to the initiative, that all parties would resume talks and after 18 months, the UN will declare Palestine a unity government despite whether or not talks brought any agreement. Addressing a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Netanyahu said peace would only come from direct negotiations between the two parties and without conditions. He added that peace would not come from unilateral actions or UN resolutions. He called the French initiative an order that disregarded Israel’s security concerns. The Israeli PM also asked Palestine to recognize the Jewish state.
