(VOVworld) – Israeli army officials said the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has mobilised hundreds of thousands of reservists for a 3-day military exercise.

As part of the drill, reservists will receive a mock telephone message in order to test if the call-up system works.
The drill tests Israel’s response to mock rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip and Israel's northern border.
During the exercise, the Israeli Air Force will place its air bases in emergency mode and practice rapidly translating intelligence data into air strikes.
The Israeli Navy will also take part and for the first time, cyber defense will be included.
The Israeli military exercise comes amid rising tensions and violence between Israel and Palestine since the failure of US-brokered talks last April.
