(VOVworld) - Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the decision by the International Criminal Court to launch a preliminary investigation into possible war crimes in the Palestinian territories. In a televised announcement on Saturday, Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed that the decision on an inquiry into Israel is absurd because Israel “upholds the highest standards of international law”. He reiterated that Israel only tried to protect itself against Palestinian terrorists who often conduct war crimes. He added that ICC should sue Palestinian extremists who used to fire thousands of rockets targeting Israeli people and took ordinary Palestinians as live shields.
