Italy extends thanks to Vietnam for COVID-19 support
(VOVWORLD) - The Italian Foreign Ministry has sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, thanking the Vietnamese government and people for the support given to the European country in their fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
The letter states that: “In these challenging times, the widespread solidarity shown at multiple levels by governments and the civil society witnesses the depth of the relationship between our countries. The Italian government is steering all efforts to contain the spread of the virus, taking care of those affected, and addressing the dire economic consequences stemming from this global pandemic. Your help will undoubtedly contribute to the success of our action and ultimately assist us on our way of recovery. The Italian people will always remember the generosity and solidarity shown by Vietnam in this time of need.”
On this occasion, Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese also sent a thankful letter to Minister of Public Security To Lam.
On Tuesday, Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung handed over a symbolic donation of 550,000 made-in-Vietnam antibacterial cloth masks to France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
