Italy PM declares state of emergency after bridge collapse
(VOVWORLD) - Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has declared a 12-month state of emergency in Genoa after a bridge collapse in Morandi on Tuesday killed at least 39 people.

He said the Italian government will spent 5 million euros in search and rescue efforts and is considering revoking the license of Autostrade per l’Italia, the private company in charge of maintaining the Morandi Bridge. Conte said the incident is unacceptable in modern society and the government will do its best to prevent similar accidents in the future.
