(VOVworld) - Indonesian authorities announced on Saturday they have identified four of the five men believed to have carried out Thursday's terror attacks in Jakarta which killed seven people, including the five attackers. Two suspects were named as Afif Dias Sukanti and Muhammad Ali. National Police chief Badrodin Haiti said Afif was arrested in 2010 for suspected terror activities in Aceh Province in northern Sumatra. He was sentenced to seven years in jail but was freed in August 2015. The second suspect was said to have supported gunmen attacking Starbucks cafe near Siranah shopping center. These two suspects were killed during a gun battle with police.
Police forensic doctors also identified Ahmad Muhazab bin Saroni, 25, as the alleged suicide bomber inside the Starbucks cafe and Dian Juni Kurniadi who was believed to be a suicide bomber at the police box. Badrodin, however, said it has not yet been confirmed whether Sugito was one of the perpetrators or just a suspect.
Authorities claim the mastermind behind the bombings and shootings was 32-year-old Muhammad Bahrun Naim Anggih Tantomo, an Islamic State follower now based in Syria.
