The Hanoi People’s Committee and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting investment in Hanoi’s infrastructure. Under the agreement, the two sides will create favourable conditions for the private sector to engage in urban infrastructure and industrial projects using the public-private partnership (PPP) and build-operate-transfer (BOT) models. The projects will see the participation of Japanese companies, as investors or contractors, and others which qualify to receive JBIC’s financial assistance.
