(VOVworld) – According to Reuters, Japan lifted sanctions on Iran Friday after the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed last weekend that Tehran has taken steps to curb its nuclear program.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga made the announcement at a press conference.
The US and the EU also removed sanctions against Iran after IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano confirmed that Iran had honored the agreement to curtail its nuclear program signed last July with six world powers.
